AUTISM AND EMPHATHY

There is a myth that we lack empathy. I had a lack of empathy As a child due to an inability to read body language, including facial expressions. As I grew older I learned to read others over time. My new skills are vital to my integration into a society, which I once found confusing. Without empathy I was at a major disadvantage in social situation s. I was coming across as aloof, Bored and even callous. To be called arrogant is infuriating when I am the exact opposite. I will be never be fully normal, but I am better at what is called masking,Which is vital in certain situation s. For those readers who see us as talented in certain ways please be aware that talent will not gain one social acceptance without social skills.
